TechNexus, a Chicago-based hub for fast-growing tech companies, hired Wight to design its new offices. The space, which utilizes a full-floor within the historic Civic Opera Building, enables true collaboration and includes permanent and temporary offices and meeting spaces for up to 400 entrepreneurs.
“Co-located” workspaces are springing up everywhere these days, but for TechNexus, the idea of co-locating and incubating started nearly a decade ago. TechNexus’ new home is a second-generation space built on tested principles, and it stands alone in what it has delivered for its technology-focused occupants.
The economic success is measurable: 178 start-ups, $220M raised, and thousands of jobs created.
