Atlantic Fleet Drill Hall
The United States Department of the Navy commissioned Wight to provide architectural design, sustainable consulting, and civil and environmental engineering for the Atlantic Fleet Drill Hall. The LEED Gold Certified Atlantic Fleet Drill Hall is the prominent landmark structure at Camp John Paul Jones.
Freedom Hall Physical Training Facility
The United States Department of the Navy also commissioned Wight to design the new Physical Training Facility at Freedom Hall. As part of the redesign of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, the only recruit training station for the US Navy, the massive facility can accommodate the flow of 1,800 recruits, in groups of 88, during highly scheduled, rigorous forms of physical activity. Our award-winning design allows the Navy to provide exercise every day for every recruit for 60-90 minutes and includes four one-eighth mile, six-lane running tracks, six half-court basketball courts, two volleyball courts, and a state-of-the-art weight room and fitness center.
