Wight has designed a museum that pays tribute to the history of gospel music, in the former home of the birthplace of gospel, the Pilgrim Baptist Church. Reinventing this historic structure into a place of culture, worship, and community will help return the neighborhood to a bustling intersection of commerce and tourism following the tragic fire that felled this historic monument.

Visitors will be able to appreciate Sullivan’s limestone walls from outside and inside this “building within a building."
