Metropolitan Peace Academy offers vital training and outreach programs to support local communities in their journey towards healing from trauma and violence. Wight had the privilege to design their new training center and office, situated within a stunning industrial building in the vibrant Pilsen neighborhood.
The centerpiece of the space is a spacious training center, thoughtfully complemented by a social café and lounge area, alongside dedicated office spaces for employees. Drawing inspiration from the concept of Urban Forests, our design celebrates the building’s inherent charm, featuring exposed wood ceilings, timber beams, and rugged brick walls.
To evoke a sense of tranquility and connection to nature, we integrated a palette of soothing colors accented by vibrant pops of green reminiscent of lush foliage. Collaborating with a local artist, we introduced several dynamic murals that infuse the space with energy and visual intrigue.
Enhancing the ambiance further, the interior boasts a diverse array of plant species and a soothing preserved moss wall, creating a serene urban garden atmosphere. Our aim was to foster a sense of community and well-being, evident in the carefully curated spaces for social interaction and relaxation.
From the inviting lounge area featuring a pool table to the fully equipped fitness center, every element encourages engagement and holistic wellness. Metropolitan Peace Academy’s new space serves not only as a hub for learning and collaboration but also as a sanctuary for rejuvenation and connection.
