Reducing accidents & improving travel along the historic Lincoln Highway

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) commissioned Wight to provide Transportation Engineering services for a replacement bridge along Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Lynwood, Illinois, located on the southern edge of Cook County.
The project reconstructs 3,500 feet of pavement with four lanes and includes a new, 131-foot long, two-span pass bridge over the EJ&E/CN railroad tracks. The project also includes an overpass bridge, new pavement, improved signage, drainage, landscaping, 2,300 feet of retaining wall, and a 10-foot wide pedestrian walkway.
