Wight & Company partnered with the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) to create interactive, immersive exhibits to elevate the guest experience.

Griffin Studio

The Griffin Studio is a state-of-the-art digital gallery and performance space that is the only experience of its kind in North America. Housed in the East Pavilion of MSI, the Griffin Studio used a space that has sat dormant for more than 40 years. To help the Museum realize its mission to provide an innovative exhibit space that can connect science, the environment, and the world to the guest experience, the East Pavilion needed to be updated to support cutting edge technology and infrastructure for the current performance exhibit and to allow for flexibility for all future exhibit opportunities.

The launch of Griffin Studio features an immersive, multi-media experience, Notes to Neurons. Through audio, movement recognition, and interactive technologies, visitors can explore the profound impact of music on our lives and its power to foster human connection.

Blue Paradox Exhibition

The Blue Paradox is an experiential exhibit at MSI that transports guests below the ocean’s surface to explore the impact plastic pollution has had on our planet’s largest ecosystem. To create this seamless and immersive visitor experience, Wight collaborated with the client and consultant team to carefully integrate architecture and infrastructure with the overall exhibit design. Creativity and careful attention to detail was required to support the new exhibit design and cutting-edge technology while adapting and preserving the Museum’s historic structures

Conservation and Relocation of the U-505 Submarine

In 1997, MSI launched the largest conservation project in its history featuring the U-505, the only German submarine in the United States. The exhibit was designed to preserve the U-505 while providing visitors with a unique submarine experience.
