Revitalizing a suburban central business district with a state-of-the-art library
1/1
Originally designed by Lohan Associates and built in August of 2000, the Des Plaines Public Library had served its community well. However, following more than 15 years of heavy use, the Library required updates to better serve the evolving needs of its patrons. The community was eager to make use of the Library as a gathering center, with more space for collaboration, programming, and youth services, and access to up-to-date technology. As a result of their success with the initial building design, Des Plaines turned to Wight to manage the redesign of the interior.
