Creative outdoor space celebrates local community.
Chicago Alfresco Program
1/1
This project was part of the Chicago Alfresco Program, a city-wide effort to build on the expansion of outdoor dining areas and provide community organizations the opportunity to design creative outdoor spaces that celebrate its local businesses, arts, and culture. Wight served as architect of record and provided design and structural engineering services, as well as construction management support. Through these efforts, South Commercial Avenue between 89th and 90th Streets was transformed into a block-long, open-air installation featuring structures for local vendors to sell their wares, displays by local artists, garden areas, and event space for special programming.
