Wight & Company has been a proud signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment for 13 years. During that time, we have gained valuable insights into how the built environment impacts climate change and have continuously evolved our practices to stay at the forefront of sustainable design and construction. This year, we updated and expanded our Sustainability Action Plan to reflect our firm’s unique strategies for advancing sustainability.

Sustainability is central to our core values and culture. With buildings contributing nearly 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, we recognize our essential role in creating solutions for a low-carbon future. By reevaluating our workflows and strategies, we aim to further embed these practices across Wight’s entire portfolio.

Putting these aspirations into practice requires a bold, forward-thinking approach. The decisions our team makes today must not only meet the needs of our clients but also create resilient, efficient, and adaptable spaces for future generations. While updating our Sustainability Action Plan, we reflected on our past progress, evaluated our current work, and set ambitious goals for the future.

At Wight, we are committed to shaping a built environment that enriches the communities in which we live, work, and play—but we can’t do it alone. Through the publication of our Sustainability Action Plan, we hope to inspire our industry partners to join us in building a sustainable future.
