Our 85-year history is built on a foundation of successful, long-term client relationships and a deep commitment to the communities we serve. One such community is Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where we’ve partnered with clients for decades to bring their visions to life. Each new project presents an opportunity to deepen our connection to the people and places that make Glen Ellyn unique.
Our investment in Glen Ellyn began nearly four decades ago when we first partnered with the College of DuPage (COD). Over the years, our teams developed a variety of impactful projects that have helped shape its Glen Ellyn campus, including the Physical Education Center, Seaton Computing Center, and the McAninch Arts Center and Cleve Carney Museum of Art.
As part of our enduring relationship with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, Wight has been a key partner in the development of the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center (formerly the Willowbrook Wildlife Center). Starting with a site master plan and culminating in the design and construction of the new Visitor Center, these state-of-the-art, sustainable facilities will enable the Center to expand its mission to serve Glen Ellyn residents—and even those with feathers and fur.
For the Glen Ellyn Park District, we’ve completed a variety of design and construction projects to enhance its network of parks and facilities. The recently completed addition and renovation at the Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center include a 6,000-square-foot gymnastics center and upgrades to fitness studios and customer service areas.
At the B.R. Ryall YMCA, our team worked closely with administrators and stakeholders to transform the facility into an inclusive and dynamic community hub for future generations. The new spaces, which fully opened to the public earlier this fall, include an open lobby, new fitness studios, dedicated areas for children and teens, and fully accessible locker rooms.
Future generations are also at the heart of our work with Glen Ellyn School District 41. For Hadley Junior High School, we designed an expanded arts center and classroom addition, providing a long-term middle school solution for the growing district. Most recently, in fall 2024, we proudly joined SD41 at the groundbreaking for the new Kindergarten Center at Churchill Elementary School, ensuring every child in Glen Ellyn has a welcoming and inclusive start to their education
Across all these projects—and many others in between—the common thread is the people of Glen Ellyn. With every groundbreaking, ribbon cutting, and celebration, we reaffirm our commitment to this vibrant community and look forward to continuing to serve it for years to come.
